Question by jonny: Is it harmful to use mobile phones while there is thunder and lightning? will it affect the user, or the mobile phone or both? (Explain the science involved also, if possible) Any chance of the user getting a shock?

Answer by SotiCotoNot a particularly high chance… Depends whether the mobile phone is covered in metal or plastic… and how big it is…. I can’t imagine it makes any more of a difference than that. Just think of it as a metal / plastic block you hold to the side of your head.
