How does geothermal energy not contradict the second law of thermodynamics?
Jan 8th
Query by Bobby: How does geothermal power not contradict the second law of thermodynamics? If entropy will increase because of rising quantities of warmth, how does geothermal vitality, which basically will get vitality out of the warmth in the earth, not contradict the 2nd law of thermodynamics?
Finest answer:
Reply by MarcThymeThe 2nd Law of Thermodynamics applies to a CLOSED system (like, for instance, the Universe); the planet Earth is NOT a “closed system”, it is equally receiving power from and losing vitality to the Universe close to it….

Does taking energy from the zero point field or quantum vacuum violate the 1st law of thermodynamics?

The first law states that “energy cannot be created or destroyed”. Does taking energy from other dimensions really imply “creation”, or just another way to obtain energy? Does it boil down to a violation because the extra dimensions have not been proven yet? Therefore, it “could” be a violation of the law?
