Question by alluevaneed: What is the complete ME of a h2o rocket, if we ignore the volume of energy that was lost because of to air resistance? As the rocket’s height enhanced the drinking water rocket slowed down. Nonetheless, if we dismiss the sum of power that was “lost”(transformed into heat) because of to air resistance, the total mechanical energy of the rocket ( elevated / diminished / remained the same). what one?

What is the magnitude of the energy lost due to air resistance?
Jul 31st
Question by Asdfasd: What is the magnitude of the energy lost due to air resistance? the initial kinetic energy: 16.79 J the potential energy: 15.89 J The magnitude of the energy is suppose to be 0.9 J but my uTexas hw does not accept the answer. WHy? then whats the answer?

Answer by gintableWhat was the situation? Was any dry friction involved to cause energy loss in addition to the air resistance?
Did it end with any kinetic energy? Did it start with non-zero potential energy?
If you’ve answered no to all of these questions, 0.9 J is the correct answer. More >
