What would happen if someone removed all the magnesium from the ocean?
Jan 19th
Question by Ann: What would happen if someone removed all the magnesium from the ocean? I’m researching a new discovery about a machine called a MAGIC engine that takes magnesium out of the ocean and uses the sun to create energy in a way that produces only water and magnesium oxide (which can then be turned back into plain magnesium). I was wondering though, as all the magnesium from the ocean would have to be removed to provide energy to the entire world for the next 300,000 years, what would happen to the ocean if there was no magnesium in it? Question by Anna K: is there any ecomic impacts from using geothermal energy?
Best answer:
Answer by dirocynThere’s the cost of building it. Geothermal for heating/cooling is usually built by digging a long ditch and laying water pipes inside, the labor is often not free. I guess it stimulates the economy for ditch diggers.
Geothermal heating and cooling takes money away from the electric company, since it’s about 40% more efficient than standard HVAC systems.

I need some opinions about the effect of global warming from my essay?
Dec 20th
Question by RojaRego: I need some opinions about the effect of global warming from my essay? Global warming could cause the Ice to melt, allowing loads of fresh water into the ocean, dropping the salinity, and dissipating the warm and cold currents. Cold currents, which are denser than warm currents, sink to deeper into the ocean. If the cold currents were to disappear, do you think that the abyss would gain heat because of the lack of cold-water flow? Or would it lose heat because the lack of energy from the circulation? All I need is a personal More >
