Question by Earl Grey: Does bashing environmentalists impede our progress? Over the last few years it has been fascinating to listen to poltical flip floppers contradict themselves, place blame on everyone but themselves, and constantly make excuses.

Hey I’m all for green technology but what the &$@@. L.E.D. lighting is a wonderful alternative to regular incandescent lighting. I would love to change out every light I have. However I shouldn’t have to give up my Personal preference in light fixtures. I have been searching for a physical outlet for sockets which will fit my fixtures. With very little success. The only way is to give my credit card number over the net, which I will not do under any circumstances. I’m trying to argue that this author (who uses this analogy) is using fallacious reasoning. What are some obvious differences?

The author’s writes the following: “Just as 20th-century socialists savaged capitalism for all the world’s ills and offered worthless “five-year plans” as a replacement, so today’s environmentalists savage industrial energy and offer us “green energy plans” that they assure us will work–once we give them the power to forbid everything else that has already been proven to work.”

Any ideas on disproving this?
