The house and senate are made up of people who represent the interests of huge numbers of people. They are elected by their districts and supposedly represent their interests. The lobbyists increasingly get in the way of this representation by quid pro quos for campaign contributions so that representatives don’t necessarily represent their constituents but instead the deep pockets group funding their campaigns.
Can’t we remove the middle man (lobbyists) by direct representation of the people? Nowadays people need not travel to DC to vote on bills this can More >
