Most of the web is essentially client-server (with the web page being a client, and the ‘back end’ that’s processing your requests and providing web pages as a server). The web browser doesn’t do TONS of processing, but with javascript, flash, java, etc it is doing some.
Pretty much every corporation uses “client-server” technology for some part of their business. The classic example is a database that is shared over the whole application, with multiple client machines accessing it.
