Q&A: how exactly does energy allow physically complex bodies to live?
Feb 15th
Question by this is my avatar: how exactly does energy allow physically complex bodies to live? i believe in what science knows. energy cannot be created or destroyed, it is simply transferred from one place to another place. i don’t believe that energy is consciousness, but i believe that the brain is a tool to transform it into that… temporarily. i don’t believe in an afterlife, i believe that when the body dies that the body is dead… but we just become conscious through another organism.
our bodies, minds and egos are allowed to exist through energy. my question is how does More >

Pambula Beach Accommodation: An Ocean of Joy
If an infinity of oceanic skyline could be bound in a few words, the words would be Sapphire Coast. If the beauty of innocent water running over ever still stones could be expressed in a few words, the words would be Sapphire Coast. If the memories of the purest natural greenery could be preserved in your heart, it would be identified again with the two words of Sapphire Coast.
So is the magic of views from your Pambula Beach accommodation, where ocean and lake fall in close proximity. Imagine beachcombing the More >

Birmingham, UK (PRWEB) June 18, 2009
A group of wildlife enthusiasts from the npower graduate scheme has been giving Welsh beaches a boost in time for the British summer, donning their wellies to clean up the coastline in the Vale of Glamorgan.
Graduates from npower’s power station in Aberthaw adopted a stretch of coast and spent a day carrying out a beach clean, working to guidelines provided by the Marine Conservation Society (MCS), which is a UK charity dedicated to the protection of seas, shores and wildlife.
The group scaled the beach with a litter picking mission, helping to protect wildlife in More >
How do we achieve world peace?
Feb 14th
Question by Groovy Giraffe Wheels: How do we achieve world peace? How could we ever achieve world peace? If so, HOW??? What is stopping us???
Here’s what I think:
1. We must stop competing for limited resources: First we must find a way to get abundant resources to everyone around the world. As long as some people have more than others, there will be fighting against one another. In reality, the resources are abundant. The problem is NOT that there are limited resources, it is our inability to distribute these resources to everyone. For example, the ocean has more water in More >

WSI Calls for Cool Period in Most of Eastern US, Warm West During Remainder of Summer
Feb 13th
Andover, MA (PRWEB) June 24, 2009
WSI expects the upcoming period (July-September) to average cooler than normal across the eastern third of the US, with above-normal temperatures common across the western US. The highest probability for a cooler-than-normal period is in the Southeast, while the Rockies and Pacific Northwest are most likely to experience above-normal temperatures. The WSI seasonal outlooks reference a standard 30-year normal (1971-2000).
“We expect the upcoming transition to warmer temperatures in the western US and cooler temperatures in the Southeast to be the prevailing pattern for the rest of the summer,” said WSI seasonal forecaster Dr. Todd More >

Q&A: Why didn’t Japan make their nuclear plants tsunami-proof?
Feb 13th
Question by : Why didn’t Japan make their nuclear plants tsunami-proof? Why does Japan even use so much nuclear power, when the entire country is susceptible to earthquakes? A lot of the nuclear plants are located near the ocean (as they need large bodies of water), so why didn’t they make the plants tsunami proof, in addition to earthquake proof? As most of the damage came from the tsunamis. That seems pretty stupid, if you ask me. I thought the Japanese were supposed to be very intelligent.
I hope all this increases investments in other alternative energy sources, like solar and wind. More >
