Well, I’m doing a project at school and one of the questions I have to answer who/what benefits from archaeology or being an archaeologist.Another question I have to answer is what kind of technology you use if you’re an archaeologist. My teacher said I have to research this stuff or ask someone. So I’m asking YOU! Please Help!?

Who benefits:
Anyone interested in history or prehistory.
What technology:
All sorts, some high-tech, some low-tech, e.g.:
Surveying equipment. Trowel, brush, notebook, camera, filter (to sift soil). Tarp and/or plastic sheeting to protect excavations from the rain. C-14 dating, or archaeomagnetic, or thermoluminescence, or other techniques. Software to help catalogue finds.
It all depends on the work. Field work uses different technologies than lab work. Sometimes you really need absolute dates, sometimes you don’t.
