Question by Maddy_M: How long will it take to learn J2EE/J2ME to get software job?
I m 24, looking for a career change to software, after 4years in Technical industry. I know C to some extent learning C++, is it worthless to learn c++, Can i join learn J2EE/J2ME directly, how long will it take me to get a placement in software company. My friends & people suggest me that i am too ambitious in getting job in 5 months time, more so they ask me to learn .NET &C# instead of J2EE because they say it is outdated technology. Please give your valuable suggestion for my career.

You could learn the basics of Java in a week or two, but J2EE is far more complicated and would take many months. I think you’re being very ambitious if you think you can go from being a complete novice to paid job in 5 months, but if you’ve got the ability then good on you.
C#/.Net is a growing technology and the demand is likely to go up. J2EE is still very popular, but there is a surplus of Java programmers out there. C# programmers are a rarity and therefore it would be easier to get a job if you are proficient in C# and the .Net framework.
