Q&A: Articles/books on technology and unemployment?

Question by Colin: Articles/books on technology and unemployment?
I’m looking for some articles or books that discuss unemployment created by modern technology (automated robots have taken the jobs of many auto workers, for instance) now and in the future.
More specifically, they should discuss unskilled-labor dying as technology progresses and replaces the workers.
Thanks!

Thomas Sowell speaks DIRECTLY to your question in his book “Basic Economics”.
The author is well deserving of your time, and may be found at a public library free of charge.
Fair warning though.
While Sowell does, in fact, speak to your question, he basically states that your premise is dead wrong. That machinery and modernization has actually increased employment, especially among unskilled workers.
So, you now must either read Thomas Sowell, or accept that ignorance is bliss.
