How do I start using blue tooth with my laptop?
Question by bakuretsuai: How do I start using blue tooth with my laptop?
I’ve got a Toshiba Satellite and when I try to use the bluetooth technology it tells me to plug in a device. I’m totally new to this and would appreciate any help.

If the bluetooth device is built in, file transfer should be easy. Just turn on you devices bluetooth or “Activate”, and make it visible, eg. mobile phone. Then on your computer, go to control panel, and bluetooth should be there. Open it and search for devices. It should find you mobile phone and then you just have to pair it. It might ask for password, so just make one up.
If it isn’t built in, which is probably your case, then you have to buy a bluetooth dongle, like a usb stick, and plug into your laptop, and the rest is the same as above.

The device it wants you to plug in is probably a Bluetooth adapter. Not all laptops come with internal Bluetooth. (If yours does, you may have it turned off.)
