Question by Joan: How do you regain energy after being sick?
My friend is a 22 year old very healthy guy. Eats healthy, exercises and never gets tired. He just had a bad throat infection on top of the flu and was on antibiotic. He has recovered now except that he doesn’t have his old energy back. He can lay down and fall asleep without intending to. What is the best way to handle this and get his energy back up?

Dring lots of liquids and go for some air.

to get your energies back you normally drink a lot of water and rest all you have to but if it presists it would be better to see a doctor.
This kind of stuff may take a while to go away tho.

recovering from the flu can take weeks to overcome, The first thing to do is get his blood tested, he could very well be aneimic.I regularly get worn down and exhausted, to get over this, I have really early nights, and loads and loads of fresh fuit, vegetables, pasta, protein, and water. These foods will all sustain his energy levels. What he is experiencing is his bodys way of telling him to rest. He will soon be back on his feet in no time. Hope hes better soon

You have been given some great answers.
Your friend needs to go back to the doctor, and have a post-checkup.
I have seldom been sick, and last year, it took me almost 5 months to get over whatever I had picked up.
(I failed to go to the clinic) but after my sons birth, I won’t be so disinclined to go for myself.

Make sure he’s drinking plenty of fluids. He might want to take some vitamins. I was having problems with fatigue and my doctor recommended Centrum Perfomance Vitamins. They are specially formulated with ginseng, gingko, and it contains higher levels of five essential B vitamins. I noticed a huge difference within a couple of days.

Get plenty of rest. drink lots of fluids and eat healthy foods. Daily mild exercise starting low and building up until you are back to yourself.
