Question by All the good usernames are taken.: What do you think happens to our energy when we die? I won’t say ghosts are impossible, but I’m definitely not all over the idea. I’m only 16. What do I know? But I’ve put a lot of thought into it, and because I’m very much a

Question by Tiko: Which alternative fuel do you think is most effective? Best answer: Answer by RockHangerIt doesn’t really matter what WE think. The nature of the issue is way too complex, (on many fronts) for the vast majority of Yahoo Answers users. This is not a knock on Yahoo OR it’s users. This question

Question by kooky45: Why, most exactly, do water molecules give up energy when they form hydrogen bonds with other water molecules? When water molecules form hydrogen bonds, when condensing from water vapour to liquid water for example, they give up energy in an exothermic reaction. What exactly is it about the molecules that is the

Both are not even solutions.
Lithium, although is not in short supply, is not able to be mined fast enough, making it a bad solution (see sources).:
hydrogen fuel-cells is even worse off. the main form of hydrogen on this earth is from water as H2O. It would take more than a pound of hydrogen to extract a pound of hydrogen due to the laws of thermodynamics (i.e you can’t win, you can’t break even, you can’t get out of the game) furthermore, it requires platinum as a catalyst, which is in short supply and extremely rare.
the only feasible way, ironically, is both. Lithum-ion batteries for the cars, and hydrogen for the Nuclear Fusion power stations to power the cars.
(side note: Hydrogen fusion technology is still unavailable. it produces more power than it takes to break down a water molecule because the energy of matter [e=mc^2] itself is taken in the process. and no, its impossible that there ever will be a fusion reactor small enough to power a car[maybe there will be, who knows? ^^]).

No oil is a much better solution as nature recycles it all the time.

hydrogen is not a fuel, there is not 1 single molecule on the face of the earth naturally, it’s all man made. 85% of the H2 comes from natural gas, 10% from cracking oil and the rest from electrocuting water. H2 will never be a energy use system.

NEITHER ARE A “SOLUTION” TO THE PROBLEM OF FUELING VEHICLES TO ELIMINATE GLOBAL WARMING.
However, both are ways to store energy to be used to in the propulsion system of a vehicle.
Whether we store electrical energy in batteries or store electrical energy by converting water to hydrogen gas.. both are going to need some sort of electrical power supply.
BTW The person who said that H2 can be produced from Natural Gas is correct..but that is one way to make it. The real benefit from H2 will be when we can use electricity to crack H2O into H2.

Long term solution would be a new energy SOURCE.
