You know time life once did an artical conrcernig the best and most important technology of the last 50 eyars. many people interviewed said they thought the invention of the hybrid card was most important, other used the internet and modern computers as their examples.
But one old man was asked the sme question.
His answer?
“Well… that is a good question…”
After contemplating it he smiled and said “I believe it is the Thermous Bottle”
To the shock and amazement of the reporter, a follwo up question was posed to the old man.
REPORTER: “why would you choose something so low tehc? why not the computer or gps or microwave”
OLD MAN: “well… those are great things yes in dead, but the thermous bottle keaps the hot stuf hot and the cold stuff cold.”
With that the old man had a look of reverance accross his face like he had unveiled all the secrets of the universe.
Confused even more the reports had to ask, “why is that so special”
OLD MAN: “Well, how do it know?”

Computers back then and now can’t be compared. Your cellphone is probably 100 times smaller, faster, and has more RAM than a 60′s mainframe. Back then, integrated circuits were brand-new, and the microprocessor wasn’t invented until the 70′s…
Ironically, a 60′s vinyl LP using an amplifier (using vacuum tubes) produce significantly better sounding music than an MP3 through your home theater. >:)
