Question by : Why didn’t Japan make their nuclear plants tsunami-proof? Why does Japan even use so much nuclear power, when the entire country is susceptible to earthquakes? A lot of the nuclear plants are located near the ocean (as they need large bodies of water), so why didn’t they make the plants tsunami proof,

Technology doesn’t create problems. Uneducated twits like you do.

it doesn’t. paranoid people do. consider that more people have died in the history of mankind from pollution from nearby coal plants than from nuclear plants, and this includes chernobyl, and three mile island (nobody outside the plant was affected there). besides, there are companies and computer codes dedicated to figuring out the *what if*’s of nuclear plants, and making sure that even in case of a disaster, nearby people are affected minimally. can you say this for any other kind of energy? my friend, if you worked at a nuclear power plant, you would know that a week in which a secretary gets a paper cut, a worker slips on a wet floor, and a ranger somewhere crashing into a light pole is a cause for a plant-wide safety meeting and review. can you say any other place is that focused on safety? again, the only problems here are paranoid people, not the technology.
