Because its probably expannsive enough getting ID by fingerprints never mind something complex like genes – there are enough fingerprints in the world for everyone so theres no need really – maybe in the future when biometrics or eye scans get old they will have to use genes?

But there is – that is what “DNA fingerprinting” is.
It takes time and equipment (more than taking a fingerprint), but DNA evidence is routinely used in criminal cases as evidence.
