Well now that you are in Google you would know better than us perhaps. However, I did read that Google actually uses Oracle Berkeley DB HA as the backend for the Google Accounts setting storage. In fact, a recent case study claims that Oracle actually handles the entire Google Account settings for all of Google’s users.
So in short, yes there is Oracle in Google and yes you should be able to apply your training to potential prospects within the company itself.
I would ask around while at Google or check their job boards for any positions in Google Accounts area where Oracle is supposedly being used.
