Arctic Scientists See Faster Melting, Higher Floodwaters for Philadelphia Area
Jan 29th
Philadelphia, PA (Vocus) October 21, 2009 -–
Two of the world’s leading experts on the ice melting in the Arctic came to town today to tell what they’ve seen, and to demonstrate the implications for the Philadelphia/Camden region. They released the most detailed maps and video animations yet of exactly what could go under water this century in this area.
According to the scientists, the old estimates for rising seas due to global warming were overly optimistic. Fresh data from the poles now indicates between three and four feet or more of rise by the year 2100 or sooner, which will More >

Tidal Power – Harnessing the Power of the Ocean for Energy Independence
Article by Tessie Forbes
Tidal power is the only form of energy which derives directly from the relative motions of the Earth in relation to the Moon (and to a lesser extent from the Earth-Sun system). Tidal forces are produced by the Moon and Sun, in combination with Earth’s rotation, which forces water higher or lower depending on the tidal flow. Other sources of energy originate directly or indirectly from the Sun, including fossil fuels, conventional hydroelectric, wind, biofuels, wave power and solar. Nuclear is derived using radioactive More >

Relativity – Space and Time: Can energy traveling at light speed, be everywhere and any time, including …?

Question by Joe_Pardy: Relativity – Space and Time: Can energy traveling at light speed, be everywhere and any time, including …? … THE FUTURE ?
I Am trying to get a grasp of how some humans seem to be able to mentally transcend time. I know that our brains have neural networks with energy zooming around through them at the speed of light.
I also have read some of the works of Edgar Cayce, who spent some time curing the ill as well as forecasting the future. I was most impressed with his prediction of a Polar Shift to have taken More >

Scientists Say New Observations in the Arctic Make Higher Sea-level Rise a More Urgent Concern for Miami
Jan 27th
Silver Spring, MD (Vocus) October 25, 2009
According to Dr. Gordon Hamilton, a research professor at The University of Maine, the old estimates for rising seas due to global warming were overly optimistic. Fresh data from the poles now indicates between three and four feet or more of rise by the year 2100 or sooner, which will have much more of an impact on Miami and the nation, he said. The scientists also provided a graphic demonstration of how high the water could get in just a few decades.
Dr. Hamilton is active in current research on the rapid decline of More >
There has been an exponential increase in the numbers of earthquakes why?
Jan 27th
Question by : There has been an exponential increase in the numbers of earthquakes why? “The climate change does not only change Earth, but the effects carry out into the SOL system as far as the Kuiper Belt, and probably even much farther out into space. If the ocean currents intermingle, then they create tremendous amounts of energy through their huge masses of water, which influence the gravitational field, besides that, through the climate change also the Earth’s atmosphere contracts and compresses, which has already imperceptibly started. Through the whole thing of the already occurring climate change, More >

Question by caligirl4life: Some Questions… (Geography — energy from petroleum etc)? Some questions I didn’t get.. 1) Oil in the North Sea is located about 3 kilometres below sea level. What type of oil drilling platform would be used in the North Sea? Why? Type: Why:
2)The ‘Ocean Ranger’ was an unsinkable oil drilling floating platform. What happened to it?
3) A once popular TV comedy (The Beverly Hillbillies) depicted a man shooted at a rabbit and missing – the bullet struck the ground – and out came a bubbling crude (oil). Is this situation possible; is crude oil in liquid More >
Questions about theoretical ZPE weapons? How would they work?
Jan 27th
Question by Chris G: Questions about theoretical ZPE weapons? How would they work? I’ve read an article in Popular Science years ago that described ZPE (Zero Point Energy). Basically it is an energy source that permeates the vacuum of space-time itself. According to the scientist who wrote the article, there is enough inherent ZPE inside a conventional light bulb to boil an ocean!
If a weapon were created based on ZPE, what form would it take?
A bomb? A laser?
Or is there any remote possibility of a ZPE weapon being developed in the near future.
